God Hates Hands that Murder the Innocent

Proverbs 6:16-19 MESSAGE BIBLE "Here are six things God hates, and one more that he loathes with a passion: eyes that are arrogant, a tongue that lies, hands that murder the innocent, a heart that hatches evil plots, feet that race down a wicked track, a mouth that lies under oath, a troublemaker in the family."

God's greatest desire for His children is that we live a life of peace.  That is the original setting that He provided for us in Garden of Eden.  Peace and harmony are two words that describes the best life.  However, because of sin, conflict does arise from time to time.  Unsolved conflict leads to bitterness, strife, and unforgiveness.  Unfortunately there are times when we simply refuse to let it go and the result ends in the death of one by the hand of another.  God does not like it.  It breaks His heart.  As a matter of fact Proverbs 6 tells us he hates it!  Bitterness, strife, and unforgiveness are works of the flesh and they lead us to destruction.

God's Word teaches us that when we are offended by a brother or sister to go to them and make amends.  In doing so we keep that issue from creating layers of anger in our heart.  We must learn to release our offenders quickly.  Quick release does not give the enemy an opportunity to start speaking to us and strategically helping us plan a method of getting back at our offender.  Quick release allows our hearts to forgive and through prayer we can move beyond our anger into a place of forgiveness.

Today, if someone has hurt or offended you.  Let it GO!  If possible go to them and talk it over with them so that you can release it.  If it is not in either yours or their best interest to discuss it give it to God in prayer and through the power of the Holy Spirit release your offender so that you no longer will be held prisoner.

One final note: We must be cautious not to murder others with our tongues.  Sometimes our mouth can be just as deadly as our hands.
