Sometimes You've Just Got to Pray Your Way Through

Daniel 6:16-23~ Then the king commanded, and they brought Daniel, and cast him into the den of lions, Now the king spake and said unto Daniel, Thy God whom thou servest continually, he will deliver thee. 17. And a stone was brought, and laid upon  the mouth of the den; and the king sealed it with his own signet, and with the signet of his lords; that the purpose might not be changed concerning Daniel.  18. Then the king went to his palace, and passed the night fasting: neither were instruments of music brought before him: and his sleep went from him.  19. Then the king arose very early in the morning, and went in haste unto the den of lions.  20. And when he came to the den, he cried with a lamentable voice unto Daniel; and the king spake and said to Daniel, O Daniel, servant of the living God, is thy God, whom thou servest continually, able to deliver thee from the lions?  21. Then said Daniel unto the king, O king, live forever.  22. My God hath sent his angel, and hath shut the lions’ mouths, that they have not hurt me: forasmuch as before him innocency was found in me; and also before thee, O king, have I done no hurt.  23. Then was the king exceeding glad for him, and commanded that they should take Daniel up out of the den.  So Daniel was taken up out of the den and no manner of hurt was found upon him, because he believed in his God.
Pray Your Way Through
Daniel refused to let anyone or anything separate him from the relationship he had with God. Daniel knew about the law, but he still prayed three times a day as he always did.  Daniel’s disciplined prayer life could not be interrupted by a ridiculous law instituted by haters.  Daniel was bold when it came to standing for his God. He had been in uncomfortable positions before and he held steadfast to his convictions.   He had a house in Babylon and in that house he had an upper room.  There were windows in it and these windows opened toward Jerusalem.  Before the open windows, Daniel knelt and prayed to the God of Israel.  In his prayer, he brought his own needs and the needs of the sinful captives of Israel, to the Lord.
1 Peter 5:
8~ Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the Devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour.

Your haters are always watching you in hopes of catching you in the act.  Daniel made it very easy for them.  He opened up the windows and cried out unto the Lord.  They heard him and then went before the king with their evidence.  They told the king in Daniel 6:13 “That Daniel, which is of the children of the captivity of Judah, regardeth not thee, O king, nor the decree that thou hast signed, but maketh his petition three times a day.”
Darius finds himself trapped in his own signature placing his trusted servant Daniel in a catch 22 situation. He wants to help Daniel out of this situation but there is no way out. Darius labors over this thing until the going down of the sun and he can’t find a way out.  The haters got tired of waiting.  It was time they had a little board meeting with the king.  King, you know the law is the law and it can’t be changed.  I’m sure by now Darius is ringing his hands in agony for Daniel.  But remember oh king while you are trying to figure things out, God has already worked it out.
