Ambassador For Christ

The body of Christ has a blessed task upon the face of the earth.  God has entrusted us to be His ambassadors in our homes, in our communities, on our jobs, at the grocery store, and even on our vacations.  An ambassador is a representative or a spokesperson for someone else usually assigned to a foreign country.  I want to make sure you get this.  An ambassador is a representative or a spokesperson for someone else and usually that ambassador is assigned to a foreign territory.  The (English Standard Version) of 2^nd Corinthians 5:20 says, “Therefore, we are ambassadors for Christ, God making his appeal through us. We implore you on behalf of Christ, be reconciled to God.”

Some of us have realized that we were sinners in need of a Savior.  Upon gaining that understanding we sincerely asked Jesus to come into our hearts to save us from sin, self, and Satan.  In making that decision we asked Jesus to take over ownership and to rule and reign over our minds, hearts, and bodies.  When we asked Jesus to come in we were choosing to live righteous and holy lives instead of sinful and unrighteous lives. 

Therefore we have been called out from the world even though we are still living in the world.  This means that even though you may reside on the earth, if you have accepted Christ as your Savior you are really acitizen of heaven. That ought to make you excited!    Ephesians 2:6 (Contemporary English Version) says, “God raised us from death to life with Christ Jesus, and he has given us a place beside Christ in heaven.”   So, if you're seated beside Christ in Heaven and you're real residence is a mansion located in the Pearly Gated Community on the Golden Streets of Heaven’s Boulevard, why is it that you're still on the earth enduring trials, tribulations, and the circumstances of this life?  I’m so glad that you asked. 

We are in this foreign territory called the world, representing our Father which is in Heaven (which is our homeland) as His spokespersons.  He has left us here as His leaders, as His ambassadors, on this earth to occupy or do business for Him until He returns.  God has chosen us (His daughters and sons) to say what  Jesus said and to live like Jesus lived so that those who are really His but are presently estranged,  may realize and know who they are, not in this world, but in Christ.  Somebody’s got to tell them and show them how to live for God.  Oh, and don't forget you still have an enemy (Satan) who wants to distract you from feeling like a citizen of heaven.  Therefore he sends boomerangs in our lives to make us feel as though we are not who God says we are.  But I am reminded of 1st Peter 5:8 " Be sober be vigilant because your adversary the Devil as a roaring lion walketh about seeking who he may devour."  He's looking for someone to tear apart.  Don't let it be you.  Do like Jesus did.  Put the Word of God on Satan and he will flee.  He even knows the power of God's Word.  Until tomorrow......
